Dan Honahni Biography

 

 

Dan HonahniDr. Daniel Honahni has devoted his career to education, tribal management, and small business and has had a lifelong interest in sustainable development.


He holds a Doctorate in Humanities; a Business Management Certificate from the University of New Mexico; a Masters of Education from Harvard University, and served as a Teaching Fellow at Harvard and a member of Phi Delta Kappa.


The first 30 years of his working career were spent serving as the instructor/director of the Pueblo Teacher Education Program at the University of new Mexico; President of the College of Ganado.  He also owned private businesses and was the Tribal Operations Officer of the Hopi Tribe.  Dr. Honahni is currently the President/CEO of the Moenkopi Developers Corporation, where their mission is to bring economic development to the Upper Village of Moenkopi.   


In addition to these roles he has served on numerous foundations, university and federal boards and committees, including Chairman of the Arizona Commission on Indian Affairs under two governors.


He is also President and founder of a private consulting firm that provides services and training in Parent, Leadership and Teacher Effectiveness; Native American Cultural Curriculum Development and Management by Objectives.
